GE 393 RLP - Business Plan Workshop for Technology Entrepreneurs
Business Concept SelectionA real-world course. This course is not an academic exercise. As much as possible, business concepts investigated for the course should be drawn from viable, current business ideas. Sources of ideas. There are two sources of concepts for the course:
The primary source of business ideas is students. On the first day of class, all students with possible concepts will submit a tentative concept title and short description of the concept (see Form BC). Each concept will be identified with a single student, the concept champion. A secondary list of concepts will be compiled with the aid of the UIUC Office of Technology Management. This list will be distributed on the first day of class. Concept champions will be sought for the ideas on this list as well. Accepting responsibility as a concept champion does not commit a student to actually work on a project. That commitment is not made until the second class period when teams and concepts are actually chosen. Technology projects only. This is a course in technology entrepreneurship. All businesses must involve technology as an integral part of the business-service concept. No licensing, real estate or security. No licensing, real estate, or securities deals are to be proposed as part of this class.
Concept Champions and Unclaimed Concepts Concept Champions. The following individuals have agreed to be concept champions for the listed concepts.
Unclaimed concepts. The following concepts are unclaimed and are still in play. Individuals wishing to be concept champions should notify Professor Goldberg (deg@uiuc.edu)
