GE 393 RLP - Business Plan Workshop for Technology Entrepreneurs

Prerequisites

The course requires junior standing or the consent of the instructor.

We strongly recommend that students take the course GE 393 MJL, Technology Opportunity Assessment prior to enrolling in the workshop course. The technology-assessment course is a traditional lecture course with formal classroom instruction in concept assessment, market research, budgeting and financials, and the other myriad issues that go into a business plan. Students in this course will prepare a technology feasability plan, a plan similar to a business plan without as much operational detail.

The workshop course takes technology feasibility plans like those formulated in the technology-assessment course and creates a full-blown business plan through a process of team-mentor consultation, writing and editing, repeated presentation, and other hands-on efforts.

Those students who choose to skip the technology-assessment class will be expected to make up the material missed on their own.
