Week 2, 0905, Concept-Team Selection: Concept-team agora, Working on teams (rlp). Assessment workshop with Courtney Price, Readings: LLE 4,5,6, NVC 3-5, Form TS due.

Week 3, 0912, Model business/concept development, power presenting (deg), concept assessment, a good business plan, Readings: TE 5,6, TPW 2, LLE 3, NVC 11

Week 4, 0919 Concept Presentation: 5-minute presentation +hardcopy and e-copy, 15-minute Q&A, Readings TE 7, Pres. PPT slides due.

Week 5, 0926, Legal Stuff, IP + legal structure (?), Practical market research tips (Mack), Workshop, Readings, TE 8,15,16,17, LG 1,3,4,6,8,10,24, NVC 10, Elevator pitch due

Week 6, 1003, Market Research, Visit from Biz librarian, competitive analysis (mad), Readings: TE 9,10, GM (all), RM (all).

Week 7, 1010, Pricing & Market Penetration: Pricing & promotion (mad), Biz writing for fun (deg), Readings TE 11, 12, LLE 2, Prod-Serv Plan & Exec Summary due

Week 8, 1017, Financials I: Budgeting sales, costs (mad), 3-year Pro Formas (mad), workshop, HRFR 1-10, TE 13, NVC 12

Week 9, 1024, Mid-Term Presentation Market Plan 12-minute business presentation + 8 minute Q&A Panel of Judges, Pres. PPT slides & market plan due.

Week 10, 1031, Financials II: Cash flow (mad), workshop, Readings: TE 14, HRFR 11-24, Growth Plan due

Week 11, 1107, Valuation & Exit, valuation (mad), guest VC, workshop, Readings TE 19,20, Financial Plan due

Week 12, 1114, Seed & Venture Capital: Through eyes of VC, managmenet team, workshop (Mack available), Readings: TE 18,21,22, NVC 12,13, Op & Control Plan due

Holiday: 1121 Thanksgiving (no class)

Week 13, 1128, Money Sources & Team, $$, where to get them, kaizen session, workshop, TE 23,18, NVC 15, 6-8, Man. & Org Plan due

Week 14, 1205, Final Presentations: 20-minute presentation+10-minute Q&A (judged by VCs, entrepreneurs, and educators). Pres. PPT slides due

Forms PA (one from each team member), Form CL (one from each team), course diaries (one from each team member), and three hardcopies and one electronic copy of the final written business plan are due on Friday, December 7, 2001 by 5 pm . Hardcopies should be delivered to 117 Transportation Building. Electronic copies should be e-mailed to deg@uiuc.edu. Grades will not be issued until these materials are turned in.
